Homebirth Services
Homebirth services include:
PRENATAL CARE
- Monthly and weekly prenatal visits at the office, including lab work
- Home visits at 36 weeks and postpartum
- Referrals for ultrasound, childbirth education, and nurse-midwife/physical consult as needed
LABOR AND BIRTH
- Continuous care during the entire labor and birth process
- Advocacy role in hospital should transport become necessary
- Use of birth pool if desired
POSTPARTUM
- Newborn exam and breastfeeding assistance
- Education about self-care and newborn care
- Postpartum home visit at 24-36 hours
- Postpartum home visit at 3-4 days, including Newborn Screening test
- Home visit at one week; weekly as needed
- Daily phone calls to check on mother and baby for 1-2 weeks
- 6-week postpartum check up at the office
COST
- $3500 for first-time mothers
- $3000 for first-time mothers
- Additional charges which may apply: Lab fees, visits to other health care providers, birth supplies, water birth supplies (if not using built-in bathtub). A travel fee may be charged for mothers living more than an hour from the office.
